If I had known Catherine Ponder was a minister, I would never have bought (and returned) this book. If you believe prayer and positive thinking will bring you prosperity, I suppose this book will be fine for you. If you aren’t a devout Christian, however, you might find this book hard to deal with.

I bought this book after my pastor recommended it. I gave up after the first 3 chapters. It’s just too hard to believe. Basically, all of her examples sound like this: I was dying of cancer and needed $20,000 for the life saving operation. I had no idea how I was going to get it. However, a billionaire decided that he didn’t need $20,000 one day and disposed of the sum by dropping it out the window of his plane. The money landed in my front yard and here I am!

In Ponder’s world you never have to lift a finger. Whatever you need (money, clothes, furniture, medicine), it’s all magically dropped into your lap at the 11th hour.

Get Wallace Wattles’ book The Science of Getting Rich for free in ebook format by doing a search with Yahoo. It’s far more plausible.

I love Catherine Ponder’s books. They are so much better than Wayne Dyer’s works which espouse essentially the same message. However; while I enjoy reading her books and they are uplifting, I don’t know anyone personally who has had the same sorts of healings, blessings or serindipitous (spelling?)events occur in their lives as she has. My sister is an oncology nurse and has been for 30 years. Not once has she encountered a patient with the sort of miraculous healing Ms. Ponder describes. When I am in need of something specific and pray, I NEVER have that need met as she does. For example, she needed a new dress for a lecture she was giving and had no time to shop–a friend suddenly called to say she had gone shopping and felt that Catherine needed a dress and bought it for her. I believe God would not attend to such simplistic needs and then allow thousands to die of AIDS in Africa. I don’t really believe God wants only Americans and Europeans to be prosperous and not third world countries. It makes no sense. Yet I believe her books are comforting and recommend them.

  5. Dynamic Laws of Prosperity has a lot of useful information. I did not care for the “type setting” and the “lay out” of the book. It was hard for me to follow at times…the book just didn’t flow. Having said that though the information Ms. Ponder shares can change your life!
