This series by necessity paints in broad strokes. There is too much variation in the way different professors teach con law. I found it much more effective to listen to audio versions of cases from sites like audiocasebook than listening to this.

I am always interested in learning something new. I also have to deal with the law frequently(from the right side) and lawyers. I have always been interested in law but being a lawyer is not for me. While looking for interesting audio books to listen to on my way to work every day, I found this one. I realized I could learn a lot more about the law and all I had to do was sit back and listen so it was perfect for me.

Overall, it is a bit dry. It is however just like sitting in the back of a law school class except you can stop the instructor anytime you want without yelling shut-up, just press the pause button. It may not be for everyone, but I really liked not only the material but the entire idea of learning law on CD. I am sure you will find it dry and maybe boring if you have no interest in the law but give it a try even if you are not interested in law and you can learn something new. If you are interested in going to law school, definitely take this course before starting law school and it will help you jump ahead.

I really think it only deserves 4 stars because it is a little dry and even though it is long I would have liked to have seen it include more material, however looking over the reviews I see one unfair review so I am upping my rating by one star to 5.

I listen to these to and from law school. They cover the basic topics well. There is also an outline in PDF on the last CD.

Other people in the class also like to use flash cards however, I figure it might be a little dangerous to drive 65 mph on the NJ turnpike while looking through the flash cards. :)

The first reviewer is trying to hawk his own site, which offers bland computer-voice generated recitations of casebook opinions. They are horrible. Great concept, but in my opinion would be much more effective and enjoyable if these were read by actual human voices.

Now…to Law School Legends…I have used these supplemental lectures all through law school. They are very good. True, they do not always follow your own course outline to the letter, but they provide an EXCELLENT overview of the subject matter and can be very helpful to prepare for an upcoming lecture, by giving you a big picture view. Further, they are helpful for reviewing material you have already learned.

The best part? A real live law professor who sounds like a human being. One of my favorites is the woman professor who lectures on Real Property. Very lively. Con Law is very good too.
